sneak peek at how we did easter baskets this year up in hurrrr:
one special way to celebrate Jesus, in all ways, during easter, calls for easter baskets in my home. we didn’t include these in our festivities in my family of origin, so it’s been super fun to switch things up with my husband & create our own traditions for our girls.
honestly, i’ve only been doing easter baskets for the past few years because my girls were basically oblivious to it all. try giving toddlers gifts (they do not get it, haha!) but, now, because they’re growing, holidays, in general, are that much better!
i found these freakin’ adorable mini market baskets last year that i’ll be using every year, probably. ‘cause when you find things that are cute & go with your wannabe minimalistic lifestyle, you keep that flowing, for like ever.
being on the hunt for awhile to find a few meaningful things to put in their baskets has been fun & i would love to share with you guys what i found. wanna see?
sooooo, here goes: ok, gurl, so you know that i re-used/recyled those mini market baskets, but i also re-used some shredded filler paper from last year because it was pretty & i had it, yo. i then placed three items each in their baskets, which were………..
- ok, so this gal is one of my favorite creatives & when she came out with these sweet little bunny dolls, i just had to have them for my girls’ easter baskets. she also makes incredibly clever things out of cardboard. i am enamored with her style. you should totally go check her out!
- matching swimsuits— because duh, sooooo flipping cute & well-suited for people who are into major convenience. like me. yes, i admit it, i am guilty of enjoying convenience. (and, yah, you get a high-five if you caught that pun above!) because a wet bikini vs a wet one- piece during potty time is gonna win me over. every. flipping. time. trust me. thank You, Lord, for these suits! plus, what a fun way to welcome spring!
- i saw these & was like, “get in my bag, now.”. normally, i get the tiniest amount of candy ever, but these were too good to pass up for my little princesses. so, i went big, baby! once in awhile (on holidays), it’s nice to get a treat & it helps keep things extra special. they were the perfect addition to top off an epic/minimal easter basket. you can bet that this’ll be a staple in their baskets every year!
doing this was a blast & my girls were so happy, thankful & not overly stimulated by getting a TON of stuff that gets thrown away or lost. so, hollaaaa!
here are some pics from our day. and, heck, yes, it’s the highlight reel! i’m so thankful for the freedom Jesus paid to give us + sooooo much more! He is risen, so we can celebrate, in all the ways! and, be who He created us to be, in all the creative ways! all for His glory!
ps. i searched to give them books but ran outta time & wasn’t into the ones i did find. if you have any recommendations on books or otherwise, please, do share!
thanks so much for reading! hope you had a happy easter!
love,
sarah
